08/12/2009 - New Tango Service - 08/14/09

CSAV Group is glad to announce a new partnership with Mssrs. Hamburg-Sud for the joint operation of a new service covering the trade between South America East Coast and North America East Coast.
Our aim with such initiative is to adjust our services to the new scenario and needs of the trade, which not only has shown a decrease in volumes of around 40% during the past year, but also demands wider service coverage and improved regularity.

In consequence, CSAV Group currently operated Usatlan service, will merge with current Hamburg-Sud operated Tango service to create the ’New Tango’ service.

This consortia will run a fleet of 7 (seven) vessels with a nominal capacity of 3500 TEU each, of which 2 (two) will be provided by CSAV Group and 5 (five) by Hamburg-Sud

The rotation of this weekly fixed day service, shall be as follows:
Port Elizabeth / Philadelphia / Norfolk / Charleston / Jacksonville / Port Everglades / Puerto Cabello / Suape / Santos / Buenos Aires / Rio Grande / Navegantes / Santos / Rio de Janeiro / Salvador / Suape / Pecem / Port Elizabeth

New Tango Service is scheduled to commence with MV CSAV Itaim ETA Port Elizabeth on September 19th, 2009.

We believe the proposed setup, subject to FMC approval, will bring us truly close to current customer’s needs and shall enable an efficient long-term operation
